Jacob McCLAIN who was born Feb 10, 1858 in Greene Township, the son of Morgan and Mary Jane McClain passed away Wednesday morning at 7 o'clock at his home. He had been in failing health for several years but had only been seriously ill for two days of a heart ailment of which he succomed. He was married to Nancy Alexander October 16, 1870 at the home of her parent sin Greene Township. She survives his going with one son, Raymond McClain also of Greene Twp and four daughters, Mrs. Charles SMILEY of Greene Twp, Mrs. Goerge PYLE of south of Crawfordsville; Mrs. Clay Smiley of Greene Twp and Miss Cozette McClain at home. There are also 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Mr. McClain had resided for 67 years on the farm where he died. He and his wife celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary on Oct 16, 1946. Services wil be conducted on Friday afternoon at 2 at the farm home in Greene Twp with Rev. Airhart officiating. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
